15th Tour de Pakistan cycle race in its second day


The 15th Tour de Pakistan cycle race entered in its second day on Tuesday.

The cyclists took off from Rawalpindi during the second stage, heading for Gujrat.

Earlier, the fifteenth Tour de Pakistan cycle race has kicked off from Peshawar on Monday.

Governor North West Frontier Province (NWFP) Awais Ghani had been present in the inauguration ceremony.

A number of teams belonging to Army, Railways, Sui Southern Gas Company, four provinces and FATA are participating in the race. The cyclists from Afghanistan are also participating in the Asia's largest Tour de Pakistan cycle race.

While addressing the opening ceremony of the cycle race, Governor NWFP had said that the players can play a very important role in bringing life to normal routine in the terrorism affected country.

The cycle race will consist of eleven stages and would reach the Mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam by March 13, 2010.
