Shahrukh and Kajol movie 15 years on circuit


  • Following that, her next release should be the historical drama Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se with Abhishek Bachchan. Currently the actress is shooting for Break Ke Baad with Imran Khan and a Yash Raj movie opposite Neil Nitin Mukesh.
  • Neil Nitin Mukesh seems to have become a new favourite in the Yash Raj camp. Besides his new movie opposite Deepika Padukone, there are rumours that the handsome actor may be considered for a leading role in the third instalment of the Dhoom franchise. There's also talk that Sanjay Ghadvi, the original director of Dhoom, has been in discussions with Aditya Chopra.
  • There's a new combo doing the Bollywood rounds. After Abhi-shek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan became "Abhiash" and then Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kareena Kapoor became "Saifeena", there are now rumours of a blossoming romance between Shahid Kapur and Deepika Padukone, who have subsequently been tagged as "Shahika". After Kareena, Vidya and Priyanka, our chocolate-boy hero is becoming very popular with the ladies.
  • While South Africa prepares for the Soccer World Cup, Bolly- wood singing sensation Kailash Kher has joined international sensation Khaled to record an anthem to be played during the sporting spectacular. Incidentally, Salman Khan has also expressed an interest in attending the games.
  • There has been some sad news in the industry. While acclaimed actor Nirmal Pandey, who starred in Bandit Queen and Hazaroon Khwashieh Aise, died after suffering a heart attack, we can now report that popular fashion designer Rohit Bal also recently suffered a heart attack. Bal however is reported to be making a speedy recovery.
  • While fans across the world are currently raving about the masterpiece My Name is Khan with Shahrukh Khan and Kajol in the lead roles, the dream team of Bollywood have another reason to celebrate as their blockbus- ter, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Ja- yenge, has just completed 750 weeks at the box office. Released in October 2005, the movie, which is the longest running movie at the box office, has now completed 15 years.
  • Goutham Vasudeva Menon's Simbhu-Trisha film Vinaithaandi Varuvaaya has taken the international box office by storm and has provided a career boost for its lead pair. Menon is known for his urban flicks aimed at international audiences, but his latest film has found favour across the spectrum.
  • Menon has not taken the time to bask in the success of Vinaithaandi Varuvaaya but is set to commence work on his next project which will have Ajithkumar in the lead role. Titled Thuppariyam Anand, it will be Ajithkumar's 50th film and will see the ever-popular actor play the role of a detective in a film in which he will not romance the lead actress. The film will be produced by Dyanidhi Azhagiri.
  • Can Prakash Raj and Radha Mohan make it a hat trick of successes with their third movie? After back-to-back successes with Mozhi and Abhiyum Naanum, the successful producer-director duo is set to commence their next film, provisionally titled Payanam. Early media reports indicate the film is a suspense thriller based on a real-life hijacking incident.
  • Shaam has found a new lease on life after the success of his first negative role in the Telugu film Kick. Shaam has now turned producer for the Telugu version of his soon-to-be released Agam Puram and will also produce his next venture, Dhoosi, a bilingual to be made in Tamil and Telugu.
  • Playback singer TM Sound-ararajan, a veteran of more than 10000 songs, is to record a song for a forthcoming movie. The 87-year-old singer was recently hospitalised for a neurological problem but has since made a "miraculous recovery". Speaking after a surprise performance at a concert in Madurai, TMS did an about turn when questioned about re-mixes, saying the younger music composers were doing a good job by using innovation and creativity in their remixes.
  • Siddique, the director of Friends and the recent Bodyguard (Malayalam), will soon direct Vijay's 51st film which will reunite Vijay and Asin. Now he has launched another bilingual film, this time to be remade simultaneously in Tamil and Hindi. Vik- ram has been chosen to play the male lead and he has been so impressed with the story that he has also decided to co-produce the film.
